Intermountain Health is seeking a dedicated Security Officer at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT. The role protects patients, staff and visitors by monitoring activity, enforcing policies, responding to emergencies, and safeguarding property.

Responsibilities include operating surveillance and access systems, de-escalation, handling violent incidents, HIPAA-compliant reporting, and participating in drills to ensure a safe healthcare environment. 40 hours/week, $20.45-$27.04 hourly.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license if driving is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Montana Security Guard Licensure required within 120 days of hire.
• One year of security/public safety experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms) and maintain equipment.
• De-escalate conflicts using verbal and non-verbal strategies.
• Intervene during violent incidents and use restraints when necessary.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant reporting of incidents.
• Respond to bomb threats and suspicious packages following protocol.
• Participate in drills such as infant abduction and active shooter readiness.
• Conduct safe patient searches for narcotics per legal requirements.
• Perform safety inspections of floors, extinguishers, and facilities.
• Enforce parking rules to protect safety and access.
• Collaborate with HR and law enforcement on investigations.
