Job summary

Allied Universal in Avon, OH is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Hospital Crisis Intervention to serve patients, visitors, and staff in a healthcare setting. You will monitor, patrol, and deter security incidents while delivering courteous service in a dynamic hospital environment.

This role requires flexibility to cover day shifts, a high school diploma, the ability to restrain when necessary, and adherence to vaccination and background screening requirements.

Qualifications

• Must meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be able to work in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
• Must be able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and surrounding perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, access concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and traffic flow while maintaining a professional presence in a healthcare environment.
