Job summary

St. Anthony Summit Hospital in Frisco, CO is seeking a Safety Officer to develop, coordinate, and monitor programs ensuring compliance with TJC EC, EM, OSHA, and NFPA standards. You will oversee hazard communication, investigations, and reduction efforts, and serve as on-site security contact and contract liaison.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, program development skills, and experience implementing safety standards while managing vendor relationships within a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Safety/Safety Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of experience in Emergency Management, Occupational Safety, and/or Fire Safety.
• A minimum of one year within a healthcare organization.
• Experience in interpreting and implementing OSHA, TJC, and state health statutes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, monitor, and report on TJC EC programs across facilities under the hospital's license.
• Oversee EC rounds and risk assessments; collect and evaluate safety information and hazards.
• Make timely changes or corrections when safety issues are identified.
• Manage Emergency Management program: training, disaster-related activities, and exercises.
• Maintain Hospital Safety Manual and Emergency Operations Plan and annexes; ensure periodic reviews.
• Coordinate safety programs for orientation, mandatory education, and regulatory training for staff.
• Maintain data and documentation for EC and EM programs.
• Monitor compliance of safety surveys and report progress to EC and EM committees.
