Job summary

University of Massachusetts Medical School seeks a Quality Director to lead organizational quality and healthcare operations projects, focusing on internal quality and process improvement, and external client engagements.

The role partners with the Entity Chief Quality Officer and ForHealth Consulting to drive continuous improvement, develop KPIs, supervise RCA efforts, and guide regulatory readiness across health services.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of healthcare quality assurance and quality improvement experience.
• In-depth knowledge of external quality standards.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
• Evidence-based frameworks and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead entity-wide quality initiatives to improve outcomes and delivery quality for internal and external clients.
• Partner with operational leaders to develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes.
• Drive quality transformation using change management and process improvement best practices.
• Oversee identified initiatives, programs, and achievements in operational effectiveness and related quality areas.
• Lead internal root cause analyses and drive corrective actions to mitigate risk.
• Serve as an internal quality expert in regulatory, process improvement, high reliability, and performance monitoring.
• Lead development of unit-specific quality programs including data collection, KPI creation, and policy/procedure development.
• Develop and implement quality plans to improve performance and align with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with digital solutions leadership to apply emerging technologies in quality operations.
• Provide coverage in ECQO absence on critical projects and initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell with client organizations.
