Job summary

CharterCARE Health of Rhode Island, LLC is seeking an Assistant Buyer in Providence, RI. The role supports senior buyers in purchasing, sourcing, replenishment, and cost improvements, with daily EDI management duties.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in healthcare purchasing or related supply chain, and a 2–4 year business degree. Strong Excel, communication, and confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience as an assistant buyer/clerk in healthcare or related supply chain.
• Familiar with acceptable supply chain and buying procedures.
• Basic level of Excel and Microsoft Office; knowledge of buying systems and EDI management.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior in buying, strategic sourcing, replenishment, contract, and cost improvements.
• Assist in supplier selection, maintain cost accuracy, and procure materials/services.
• Lead confirmations and manage daily exceptions/rejections in the EDI site.
• Report to Director of Supply Chain and support Senior Buyers daily.
