Job summary

Wyandot Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Buyer to join the Purchasing & Logistics team. This full-time role focuses on sourcing, ordering, and tracking medical and non-medical supplies to support hospital operations and patient care.

You will generate purchase orders, maintain vendor records, monitor inventory levels, and collaborate with departments and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, supply chain, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years in an office setting, preferably in purchasing or accounting.
• One to three years of purchasing or supply chain experience preferred, ideally in healthcare.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and other computer applications.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and contract terminology.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

• Process supply requisitions and generate purchase orders for hospital departments.
• Track orders and maintain inventory levels in sterile and non-sterile supply locations.
• Maintain accurate records for items, pricing, vendors, and inventory counts.
• Assist with vendor communication and support contract compliance.
• Monitor purchasing activity to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
• Participate in year-end inventory counts and other departmental projects as assigned.
• Follow organizational policies and procedures related to purchasing and logistics.
