Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer for the Fond du Lac Campus. This full-time role covers 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:00 PM) on Sundays through Thursdays, with holiday work as scheduled.

The position includes patrols, incident response, and collaboration with law enforcement to maintain a safe hospital environment. Responsibilities include de‑escalation, emergency response, training of officers, and ensuring compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4 years of experience in security/public safety/customer service.
• CHSO certification within 2 years of appointment and ongoing recertification not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides security services with a customer-service approach.
• Performs interior and exterior patrols to identify vulnerabilities and ensure safety.
• Responds to emergencies and service calls, including potential threats.
• De-escalates and uses force when necessary and within training.
• Coordinates with law enforcement and first responders as needed.
• Trains and mentors officers, maintains training records, and prepares lesson plans.
