Job summary

Cayuga Health System is seeking a Production Cook for full-time day shifts in Ithaca, NY to prepare meals for residents, patients, staff and visitors. Follow recipes and menus while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

You will ensure food safety, complete temperature logs, manage production areas, and utilize production software. Prior healthcare environment experience and ServSafe certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years cooking/food production experience.
• 1 year food safety experience.
• 5+ years in large-scale production kitchen (preferred).
• Healthcare environment experience (preferred).
• ServSafe or Food Safety Manager certification (preferred).
• 2-year culinary degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for service per recipe.
• Assist with menu and recipe development.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal food safety and sanitation codes.
• Accurately complete all temperature logs to ensure food safety.
• Maintain all food storage and production areas in inspection-ready condition.
• Monitor overproduction to minimize waste.
• Serve patrons and complete sales via POS in retail outlet.
• Daily use of Food Service Management software for production sheets.
