Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (minimum 2 years in Supply Chain, hospital procedural areas, or medical surgical supply management).
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic techniques, surgical instruments/equipment, hospital procedural environments, and inventory management preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively represent Brown University Health and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality assurance and practice standards per system policies and objectives.
• Ensures uninterrupted Supply Chain support for in-scope procedural areas and related departments.
• Performs duties such as picking, counting, organizing, documenting, and/or ordering and receiving equipment and supplies.
• Assures supplies are available to support patients and caregivers in operating rooms and procedural areas.
• Identifies and selects medical surgical supplies and equipment for procedural cases, including case carts if applicable.
• Communicates unmet needs and escalates as appropriate.
• Restocks carts and trays and transports carts, instruments and supplies as needed.
• Maintains clean, organized work areas and proper labeling of storage.
• Coordinates with suppliers or Supply Chain colleagues for delivery, returns, and inventory management.
• Participates in annual supply inventory and supports recalls/substitutions as necessary.
• Provides training and guidance on supply chain operations to new employees.
