Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Office of Policy and Management, is seeking a Healthcare Benchmark Initiative Policy Development Coordinator to lead data collection and analysis for cost growth benchmarks, primary care spending targets, and quality measures. You will guide interagency collaboration and manage stakeholder groups to develop health policy strategies.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience with major responsibility for the review, analysis, coordination and administration of policies and programs in a large governmental, public affairs or business organization.
• College training may be substituted for the General Experience (fifteen (15) semester hours equals one-half year, up to four years for a Bachelor's degree).
• A Master's degree in public administration or political science may be substituted for one additional year of General Experience.
• Experience in health policy and healthcare markets, cost containment strategies or payment reform is preferred.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and lead Connecticut's health care benchmark initiative, including data collection and analysis of cost-growth benchmarks, primary care spending targets, and quality benchmarks.
• Develop strategic vision for health care affordability, access and quality.
• Develop policy and analyses to support those policies and reforms.
• Engage and cultivate stakeholder partnerships to support benchmark initiative goals.
• Analyze healthcare data to identify trends and prepare written reports and policy briefs for leadership.
• Coordinate interagency collaboration and manage projects with external contractors.
