Job summary

You will design plumbing, medical gas, and fire protection systems for healthcare facilities and develop drawings and specifications with the project team. The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 3–5 years of building project experience, with AutoCAD and Revit proficiency and knowledge of building codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year program.
• 3–5 years of professional experience on commercial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
• At least 3 years designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Strong AutoCAD and Revit capabilities.
• Knowledge of NYC/ national plumbing, fire, and building codes.
• Experience with lab, healthcare, S&T, and medical gas is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings and specification documents with project teams.
• Design plumbing, medical gas, and fire protection systems and develop initial concepts.
• Perform system design calculations for water, gas, medical gases, and sanitary loads.
• Select equipment and prepare contract drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with other engineers and architects; attend meetings with clients.
• Attend site visits and generate field observation reports.
