Job summary

Bay West in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Waste Collection Technician to support Industrial Services and emergency response projects. You will perform essential duties on-site at a project facility handling pharmaceutical collections and waste management in a healthcare setting.

This full-time, on-site role operates 8:00 AM–2:00 PM Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri and 5:30 AM–1:00 PM Wed; hours may vary by project. Bay West offers competitive benefits and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3–5 years related experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation availability on a 24-hour basis.

Responsibilities

• Collect pharmaceutical waste containers from hospital collection points.
• Assemble containers at a central area and sort into hazardous and non-hazardous classes.
• Maintain storage requirements for a Large Quantity Generator (LQG).
• Ensure waste is shipped within time limits to maintain LQG compliance.
• Interact professionally with hospital staff and visitors.
• Coordinate weekly to bi-weekly waste drum shipments with proper labeling and shipping docs.
• Perform weekly hazardous waste inspections and maintain storage area standards.
• Assist with project documentation and procedures for transportation and disposal.
• Participate in ER spill clean-up activities as needed.
