Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least five years of related experience and/or training.
• Working knowledge of payroll operations required.
• Proficient in use of calculator and keyboard; courses in bookkeeping, computer skills, mathematics, and typing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolves employee payroll inquiries ranging from simple to complex (e.g. calculation of wages, deductions, and benefits).
• Verifies payroll data reports and deductions; ensures accuracy of FICA, FIT, insurance, direct deposits and hospital charges.
• Reconciles and balances payroll reports to employee annual earnings; verifies correctness of individual W-2 Forms.
• Assists in reconciliation of 941 Federal Quarterly Wage and Tax Report to the tax ledger; prepares journal entries.
• Manages monthly reconciliations of payroll-related accounts (FIT, FICA, United Way, etc.).
• Interacts with online banking for payroll-related research and resolution; coordinates with HR and IS as needed.
