Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking a dependable Billing Payments Clerk to ensure timely posting of payments and adjustments into our hospital billing system. You will process 835 ERA, ACH, EFT transactions, handle USPS and inter-office mail, balance daily batches and support reconciliation and auditing.

Ideal candidates have at least a high school diploma (associates preferred) and two years of billing or insurance experience, with familiarity in ERAs, ACH, EFTs, and EOBs.

Qualifications

• Education level: high school graduation or GED; an associate degree preferred.
• Experience in billing, insurance, collections or related field required.
• Ability to read ERAs, ACHs, EFTs and EOBs/EOPs with accuracy.
• Proficient in basic computer software and Microsoft Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Post payments and adjustments into the hospital billing system in a timely manner.
• Process 835 ERA, ACH, EFT transactions and mail handling.
• Balance daily batches and assist with reconciliation and auditing.
• Prepare documentation for reconciliation and auditing; communicate with internal/external contacts.
