Job summary

Memorial Health in Springfield, IL is seeking a Billing Specialist to ensure timely posting of payments and adjustments into our hospital billing system. You will process 835 ERA, ACH, EFT transactions, handle USPS and inter-office mail, balance daily batches and assist with daily reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Two years of billing/insurance/collections experience.
• Education: high school/GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret ERAs, ACHs, EFTs, and EOBs/EOPs.
• Typing speed of 30 WPM (alphanumeric) and 6000 KPH accuracy.
• Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Post payments and adjustments into the hospital billing system.
• Process 835 ERA, ACH, EFT transactions and mail handling.
• Balance daily batches and assist with daily reconciliation.
• Initiate and monitor automated posting programs.
• Prepare documentation for reconciliation and auditing.
