Job summary

Hackensack Endoscopy Center is seeking a full-time Payment Poster to enter and reconcile all incoming payments in PAS, ensuring daily accuracy. The role requires familiarity with healthcare collections and prior experience with a patient accounting system.

The successful candidate will post payments from multiple channels, balance batches daily, and collaborate with billing staff to maintain correct charges and timely payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of healthcare insurance collections experience; ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
• Medical terminology.
• Experience with Advantx (PACS).
• Able to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management and prioritization of emergent situations.
• Customer service oriented and professional demeanor.
• Typing 45–60 WPM.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Post all incoming payments into the PAS and reconcile daily.
• Process payments from multiple sources (in-person, mail, credit card, EFTs).
• Balance and close all batches daily; verify batch totals with documents.
• Handle EFT postings and posting to PAS; maintain fiscal accuracy.
• Address aging denials and payer issues with the supervisor.
• Maintain relationships with billing staff to ensure correct charges at billing time.
• Provide relief to other office roles as needed.
• Follow policies and standards for the business office.
