Job summary

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is seeking a skilled painter to apply paints, undercoats, lacquers, and finishes to walls, ceilings, and furniture. You will read blueprints, prepare surfaces, repair sheet rock, and select colors to match specifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to adapt to change and ambiguity.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and sketches is essential.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of responsibility.
• Must distinguish colors.
• Ability to operate standard tools, instruments and equipment used on the job.
• Knowledge of commercial painting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Applies paints, undercoats, and sealers to walls and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
• Cleans tools and work area; prepares surfaces and fills cracks or holes.
• Performs taping jobs and repairs on sheet rock surfaces.
• Climbs ladders and scaffolds as needed.
• Refinishes desks, chairs, and wood surfaces to match colors.
• Selects premixed colors or blends paints to match specified colors.
• Spray-paints ceilings with an airless spray gun; maintains spray equipment.
