Job summary

Betty Jean Kerr People's Health Centers seeks a Chief Operating Officer to direct and optimize operational performance across our network. You will collaborate with the CEO, CMO, CFO, and other leaders to advance strategic initiatives, improve patient access, and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

The COO will drive performance, oversee governance and risk, lead workforce planning, and advance operational excellence in a multi-site FQHC environment, with a strong emphasis on community

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field is required.
• Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, MBA, MPH, or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of ten years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
• Minimum of five years of senior-level operational leadership experience.
• Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or multi-site healthcare system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day operations of all health center locations and service lines.
• Set strategic direction with Executive Management Team and translate into operational goals.
• Monitor KPIs, drive performance improvement, and ensure regulatory readiness.
• Collaborate with CEO, CMO, CFO, Compliance, HR, and other leaders on strategic initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and employee engagement.
• Oversee quality improvement, patient access, and financial sustainability.
• Support board activities with reports and data on operational performance.
• Lead workforce planning, development, and partnerships to advance growth.
• Represent the health center in external partnerships and community initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HRSA OSV readiness and accreditation standards.
