Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in health care and minimum of one-year experience in surgery scheduling preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Ability to handle stress and flexible with hours.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries in the surgery template and handle calls from physician offices about scheduling.
• Answer phones professionally and assist physician offices and patients.
• Complete pre-registration and obtain necessary authorizations prior to surgery.
• Maintain log for cancelled appointments.
• Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, filing, mailing surveys and chart preparation.
• Keep surgery scheduling area clean and organized.
• Verify all scheduled cases promptly and communicate payment policies to patients.
• Document insurance verification and patient calls in the account.
