Job summary

Guthrie Clinic is seeking an on-site Network Engineer in Binghamton, NY to design, implement, and support LAN, WAN, WLAN and SDWAN across healthcare operations. You will ensure high availability of clinical systems and administrative networks while collaborating with IT teams, vendors and hospital leaders.

The role requires 3–5 years of enterprise network experience, familiarity with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, firewalls and cloud networking.

Qualifications

• 3+ to 5 years of enterprise network implementation/management experience, healthcare preferred.
• Strong technical background with multi-unit organization experience.
• Familiar with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS and Cisco/Extreme/Palo Alto tech.
• Network security tools including firewalls/IDS/IPS/NAC experience.
• Knowledge of SDN and cloud networking (AWS/Azure).
• Azure networking services knowledge (VNET, ExpressRoute, vWAN).
• Proficient with monitoring/logging tools (Syslog, Netflow, Solarwinds).
• Understanding of security/encryption standards and 24/7 HA environments.
• Experience with ITSM, change control, CMDB and ticketing systems.
• Strong healthcare IT knowledge (Epic/Cerner) and cross-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain network devices and topologies.
• Monitor network performance to ensure high availability and performance.
• Document configurations and network topologies.
• Serve as SME for LAN/WAN/WLAN/SDWAN technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across network domains.
• Provide level 2 escalation for complex tasks.
• Stay current on industry trends and evaluate new technologies.
• Travel between sites within the PA/NY regional footprint.
