Network Solutions Architect - IT Infrastructure
The position is for a Network Architect in a leading healthcare organization to design, secure, and optimize mission‑critical networks in a 24/7 environment. This role drives high availability, cloud connectivity, and compliance for clinical systems including Epic and Cerner.
Base pay range
$110,000 - $135,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end Network Architecture across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD‑WAN for high availability and performance.
- Engineer and optimize routing using TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS; implement QoS and segmentation strategies.
- Design and operate multi‑vendor infrastructures (Cisco, Palo Alto, Extreme Networks) with standards‑based configurations.
- Strengthen Network Security with firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, and SDN policies; enforce least privilege and zero‑trust principles.
- Build and manage Cloud Networking for AWS and Azure, including hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute).
- Implement monitoring/observability with SolarWinds, Syslog, ACS, NetFlow; automate alerting and capacity planning.
- Maintain governance via ITSM practices and accurate CMDB records; contribute to change/release management.
- Partner with clinical application teams to ensure availability and performance for Healthcare IT platforms (Epic, Cerner).
- Create standards, runbooks, and diagrams; mentor engineers and support on‑call operations in a 24/7 environment.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in enterprise networking with proven Network Architecture leadership in healthcare or other regulated industries.
- Deep expertise in LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD‑WAN, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS.
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Extreme Networks; strong firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, and SDN knowledge.
- Cloud proficiency in AWS and Azure networking (VPC/VNet, transit routing, security groups/NSGs).
- Mastery of monitoring/tools such as SolarWinds, Syslog, ACS, NetFlow; scripting/automation a plus.
- Familiarity with ITSM/CMDB processes and change control; strong documentation skills.
- Understanding of Healthcare IT environments and clinical application dependencies (Epic, Cerner).
- Certifications preferred: CCNP/CCIE, CISSP or equivalent.
- Track record delivering Network Security and High Availability in a 24/7 environment; excellent cross‑functional communication.
