Job summary

The Materials Coordinator at UVA Community Health, part of the UVA Health system, oversees the distribution of supplies and acts as a purchasing resource for hospital staff across various locations. Required: a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience required. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Team oriented with good communication skills.
• Ability to learn inventory control software and use basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of pallet jacks, dock boards and hand trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Materials Coordinator facilitates distribution of supplies per policy and procedure.
• Serves as purchasing/supply resource to hospital staff and other areas.
• Maintains and stocks supply locations; processes requisitions electronically.
• Receives, processes returns, maintains par levels, replenishes carts.
• Maintains inventory database and ensures cleanliness of supply rooms.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Keeps up with safety training and infection control in-services.
