Job summary

UVM Health is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to keep patient care facilities safe, compliant, and fully operational. You will perform preventive and corrective work on diverse building systems, using your technical expertise to deliver high-quality repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related trades.

The role emphasizes teamwork with Facilities professionals, strict safety practices, and accurate documentation in the CMMS, supporting reliable hospital operations and patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in maintenance, facilities, or skilled trades.
• Experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Proficient with standard office software and written communication.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Customer-service orientation with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems.
• Execute specialized repairs within your trade area and document activities in the CMMS.
• Support hospital grounds, facilities, and site infrastructure upkeep.
• Respond to service requests and facility emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Assist with inspections and regulatory compliance activities.
• Collaborate with Facilities and other departments to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safety procedures in healthcare settings.
