Job summary

Atlas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician for our Clifton, NJ skilled nursing facility. The role ensures a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for residents and staff.

The technician handles daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general systems. Strong teamwork and attention to safety are essential in this healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in building or facility maintenance preferred.
• Skilled nursing, healthcare, hospital, assisted living, or long‑term‑care experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and perform repairs safely.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident and staff safety.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies when required.
• Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of the building, grounds, equipment, and resident areas.
• Complete routine and preventive maintenance to keep facility systems operating safely and efficiently.
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
• Maintain and repair doors, locks, windows, walls, ceilings, floors, fixtures, and other building components.
• Assist with maintenance of resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, including wheelchairs, beds, and other facility equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and repairs.
• Identify potential safety hazards and report or correct them promptly.
• Assist with emergency repairs and facility‑related emergencies when necessary.
