Job summary

Stony Brook University Medical Center is seeking a Locksmith for the Day Shift to install, repair, and maintain locks, keys, and related hardware across hospital facilities. The role emphasizes accuracy, security, and documentation, with opportunities to train and supervise others as needed.

The position requires four years of full-time locksmith experience or an equivalent apprenticeship background, and may favor those with hospital experience and a current New York driver license.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time locksmithing experience under a skilled journeyman locksmith, equivalent training from an apprenticeship program.
• Apprenticeship training or technical courses in locksmithing may substitute year-for-year.
• Preference for hospital/healthcare setting experience and a valid NY driver license.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair locks and keys and other door or gate hardware.
• Maintain an extensive record system to track locks, keys, combinations and security.
