Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Paralegal to support medical malpractice, commercial, and employment litigation teams in Hartford, CT. You will provide clerical and research support, prepare discovery responses, and organize incoming and ongoing discovery materials.

You will assist attorneys with investigations, drafting documents, tracking schedules, pleadings, and filings, while using RisKonnect, NetDocs, and Relativity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in paralegal studies required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience with emphasis on health care and litigation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Teams
• Proficient in RisKonnect and document management (NetDocs), litigation holds Relativity
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, drafting, written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Create reports and documents for lawyers based on case specifications and requests
• Collect documents and information in response to discovery requests or subpoenas, often within tight deadlines
• Coordinate document preservation efforts, as needed
• Manage and update document management systems for ongoing and completed matters
• Organize and maintain legal correspondence, files, exhibits and other important information
• Stay up to date on procedural developments related to paralegals
• Conduct various types of factual research and assist with legal research
• Perform administrative tasks including drafting correspondence, maintaining templates, organizing files, tracking case schedules
• Performs other related duties as assigned
