Job summary

Old Dominion Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Laundry Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will handle cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and staff spaces to prevent infections and uphold facility hygiene standards.

Responsibilities include sanitizing rooms, waste disposal, floor care, linen handling, and restocking supplies while ensuring safety and resident privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare or residential setting housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to follow established cleaning procedures.
• Compassionate and professional interaction with residents.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, common areas, and staff areas daily following infection control procedures.
• Collect and dispose of waste per safety protocols.
• Perform floor care: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming.
• Sort, launder, and distribute linens and personal laundry.
• Restock soap, toilet paper, and towels in rooms and bathrooms.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety issues to the proper department.
• Follow health, safety, and PPE guidelines in all tasks.
• Interact respectfully and compassionately with residents, maintaining privacy and dignity.
• Operate and maintain housekeeping tools and equipment.
• Participate in deep-clean projects as needed (windows, walls, seasonal sanitation).
