Job summary

PruittHealth is hiring a Laundry Aide HCC to operate washing and drying machines, sort and deliver patient laundry, and maintain a clean, organized laundry area. You will handle chemicals safely, manage stains, and ensure garments are ready for use.

On-the-job training is provided; prior healthcare laundering experience is preferred. High school diploma preferred. This role supports patient care by keeping linens clean and available across facilities.

Qualifications

• High School degree preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Previous experience in healthcare laundering processes

Responsibilities

• Folds and sorts laundry (blankets, sheets, towels, and personal clothing).
• Hangs clothes on racks by name and number.
• Delivers patient/resident laundry to designated areas.
• Ensures clothes are ready to wear and undamaged.
• Operates soaps and bleaches safely per MSDS guidance.
• Washes and dries clothes and linens; follows cleaning schedules.
• Keeps laundry area clean and organized; reports repairs.
• Empties washers/dryers as needed; handles soiled items properly.
• Operates large filters according to schedule.
• Performs routine maintenance of equipment and carts.
• Maintains proper storage and handling of laundry items.
• Cleans and disinfects linen carts as required.
• Manages cutoff switches/valves where applicable.
• Follows policy procedures for stain removal.
