Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a food service worker to assist in preparing meals for children and staff under the supervision of the Food Services Supervisor. You will assemble foods, make sandwiches, prepare beverages, and serve on a moving kitchen line while delivering coffee and luncheons as needed.

Requirements include the ability to read and follow English instructions, and 2 to 3 months of related experience.

• Ability to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assembles prepared foods, makes sandwiches, and other foods.
• Prepares between meal nourishment, picnic lunches and bag lunches for night workers and school patient.
• Sets up serving line, portions food servings and works on a moving assembly line.
• Receives written and/or oral instructions concerning type and quantity of foods to be prepared.
• Washes and cleans fruits and vegetables; prepares salads and desserts.
• Cleans work areas and disposes of waste; reports problems to supervision.
