Job summary

UNGERPARK is seeking a dedicated cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role focuses on safe, sanitary food preparation and serving in a hospital or long-term care setting.

You will follow prepared menus, portion controls, and accommodate special diets, while recording temperatures and maintaining high sanitation standards. Supervisory duties apply when the Dietary Supervisor is away.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility (minimum 1 year).
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities according to menus.
• Follow recipes and portion control guides; prepare special diets.
• Record food temperatures and maintain sanitation in the kitchen.
• Assist with serving meals and report care concerns to supervisors.
