Responsibilities include washing and sanitizing dishes, operating the dishwasher, monitoring temperatures, and assisting cooks as needed. The position emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards within a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous kitchen/dishwasher experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate the commercial dishwasher according to facility procedures.
• Check and record the chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of each shift.
• Monitor water temperatures throughout dishwashing cycles.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dishwashing area.
• Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and kitchen equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors.
• Carry out trash and garbage and maintain proper waste disposal.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks as directed.
• Put groceries and supplies away in a safe, orderly, and sanitary manner.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• Maintain the kitchen in a clean and sanitary condition throughout the shift.
• Assist cooks and the Dietary Supervisor as needed.
• Support the dietary team with additional duties as assigned.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training as required.
• Work cooperatively and harmoniously with personnel in all departments.
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety standards.
