Job summary

Forefront Healthcare is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with policies and patient safety standards. You will assist in meal delivery, monitor temperatures, follow standardized recipes, and help manage supplies under the Chef Manager/Director's guidance.

Qualifications include English fluency, a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred experience in healthcare dietary settings. Flexible hours and ServSafe are a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred.
• Preference for education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets.
• Minimum one (1) year health care dietary food service experience is desired.
• Minimum of two (2) years working in food and beverage operation preferred.
• Have general knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments.
• Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation.
• ServSafe preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Cook prepares food in accordance with applicable standards and policies, assuring patient safety.
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards.
• Completes daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
• Tastes meals to ensure quality standards and monitors food temperatures.
• Supervises storage of supplies and reports needs to Chef Manager/Director.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations and audits.
• Participates in department meetings and adheres to all policies and procedures.
