Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Cook who will prepare high-quality, safe, and delicious meals for patients, staff and visitors, including therapeutic diets, in a healthcare environment. You will follow safe cooking techniques, apply rigorous quality control, and ensure proper temperature, labeling, storage, and sanitation, while working in a fast-paced kitchen.

Requirements include one year of food service experience and a WA Food Handler Permit within 30 days; preferred HS diploma

Qualifications

• One (1) year of food service experience
• Food Handler Permit: WA, within 30 days
• Preferred High School Diploma or GED
• Cooking experience and/or combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment
• Follows healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines and procedures including monitoring and maintaining food temperatures
• Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment and machinery
• Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation & cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
