Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc is seeking a Cook to prepare foods according to standard recipes, ensuring flavor, texture, appearance, temperature and nutrition for patients, staff and guests. The role emphasizes HACCP record-keeping and strict sanitation, with duties across entrees, soups, sauces and vegetables.

The position requires 3+ years in food preparation, a High School diploma or equivalent preferred, and offers a comprehensive benefits package in a health-system setting.

Formación

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience: 3+ years previous experience in food preparation.

Responsabilidades

• Interacts with coworkers and staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Prepare select foods for patients, staff and visitors of highest quality, visually appealing.
• Braise, sauté, broil, boil, stew, steam, bake and grill to proper cooking time and temperature; safely hold food at all times.
• Prepare and portion entrees, soups, sauces, and vegetables to recipes.
• Record usage on production records to ensure foods are prepared correctly and costs are maintained.
• Assemble ingredients, portion, label and date for storage or transport.
• Maintain proper handling, storage, cooling and delivery per HACCP guidelines.
• Maintain HACCP and production records.
• Check food during service to prevent delays.
• Plan cooking and prep schedules to meet serving times.
• Adhere to food quality standards for appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.
• Store leftovers properly for reuse in next day/menu.
• Complete cleaning tasks to maintain sanitation.
• Participate in department in-services to maintain standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
