Job summary

The WVU Medicine Information Technology Internship is a 13-week, paid program for undergraduate juniors and seniors who provide technical support to various IT divisions, including Software Engineering, AI, BI, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and Health Information Management.

Primarily based in Morgantown, West Virginia, with remote options, the internship offers real-world IT work, mentorship, and networking opportunities with IT leaders.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students with at least one sophomore semester completed for internship eligibility.
• Must be able to understand and follow WVUHS IT policies and procedures.
• Basic familiarity with computer hardware and software concepts.
• Willingness to engage in IT support across multiple domains (HR, Finance, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the established policies of the WVUHS and assigned entities.
• Assisting with user support requests.
• Assisting with computer, hardware, and software setup.
• Assisting with resolving problems with software products and systems.
• Designing, running, and monitoring software tests on new and existing programs for debugging and improvement.
• Understanding and assisting with software and hardware inventory management.
