Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Material Specialist for the Inventory Management department in the greater Chicagoland area. This 100% onsite role serves as the primary contact for Medical Center departments, maintaining prescribed stock levels and ensuring orderly work areas.

You will count supplies, enter orders, rotate stock, and manage deliveries, returns, and receiving in the MMIS system while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and organize work without direct supervision.
• Knowledge of personal computers/handheld devices preferred.
• Good mathematical ability and strong verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Uses handheld computer and logs to count, assess needs, enter data, create orders, perform cycle counts, and rotate stock.
• Process and deliver common carrier packages and prime vendor orders.
• Prepare and stage returns and manage receipts and accuracy in MMIS.
• Answer phones, enter orders into MMIS, and manage pneumatic tube system tasks.
