Job summary

American Health Plans in Oklahoma seeks an Administrative Intake Coordinator to receive, screen and process all referral information for patients and facilities. You will verify benefits, obtain authorizations and ensure accurate payer assignments to support admissions.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, healthcare exposure and a willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years experience in a healthcare related environment preferred
• High School Diploma required
• Position may require unscheduled overtime, weekend work
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours
• Travel required

Responsibilities

• Receives, screens and processes all referral information
• Verifies benefits, payment method and amount
• Obtains prior authorization to ensure services are reimbursable prior to admission
• Assigns appropriate payer category and scans information back to requesting facility
• Ensures timely and accurate processing of referrals/admissions
• Back-up for review of potential insurance contracts
• Adheres to ethical business practices and high standards of integrity
• Promotes a safe and efficient working environment adhering to policies
