Job summary

Paycom in Houston, TX is seeking an Insurance Verification Coordinator to verify patient insurance, determine eligibility, and liaise with providers to minimize delays.

You'll work with healthcare staff to obtain authorization, prepare estimates, document verifications in the EMR, and support administrative projects. This role requires attention to detail and English communication; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a healthcare or insurance-related role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance coding.
• Experience with EMR systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate in English; Spanish beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Complete all office visit/surgery verification, and precertification to improve customer satisfaction within 2 weeks.
• Completes and provides surgical/injectable estimates to patients.
• Contacts insurance companies for authorization/precertification, delivers records, and verifies eligibility.
• Notates information in the system regarding verification status and patient financial responsibility.
• Assists supervisor in training staff and with administrative projects as directed.
• Works with supervisor to ensure cross-training and coverage when staff are out.
• Adheres to compliance policies and seeks new learning opportunities.
