Summary:

The Technical Implementation Analyst supports the technical execution of API-based digital solution implementations with external customers and integration partners. The role converts customer and solution requirements into executable configuration, testing, validation, and production-readiness activities; coordinates resolution of technical implementation issues; and supports go-live stabilization and transition to ongoing support.

Working within the Solution Delivery function, the analyst partners with Product Management, API and engineering teams, implementation partners, customer technical teams, and operational support functions. The role owns technical implementation execution and readiness for assigned engagements. Overall implementation orchestration, cross-functional accountability, adoption, and customer outcome ownership remain with the designated Solution Delivery lead unless otherwise defined.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Implementation and Readiness

  • Supports technical implementation of API-based digital products and interoperability solutions with external customers and partners.
  • Gathers and documents customer technical requirements, workflows, configuration needs, integration dependencies, testing requirements, constraints, and acceptance criteria.
  • Translates approved requirements into technical implementation activities, milestones, dependencies, readiness criteria, and deliverables.
  • Maintains technical implementation plans across multiple concurrent customer engagements and identifies risks that may affect testing, production activation, or committed timelines.
  • Coordinates technical readiness checkpoints and supplies evidence required for go-live decisions.
  • API Integration and Testing
  • Guides customers and partners through configuration, connectivity, and validation of API-based integrations, including FHIR and SMART on FHIR solutions where applicable.
  • Develops and coordinates technical test plans, test data needs, expected results, defect documentation, retesting, and implementation validation activities.
  • Supports end-to-end testing between customer systems and Quest digital solutions and verifies that agreed technical acceptance criteria are met.
  • Evaluates customer configurations and implementations against approved specifications, solution requirements, security controls, and production-readiness criteria.
  • Documents test results, open issues, decisions, exceptions, and final technical readiness status.

Technical Troubleshooting and Go-Live Support

  • Performs initial analysis and triage of API connectivity, authentication, configuration, data exchange, customer-environment, and solution-behavior issues.
  • Distinguishes implementation or configuration issues from suspected product defects and routes each issue to the accountable team with sufficient technical evidence.
  • Coordinates corrective actions with engineering, Product Management, customer technical teams, security, and other required partners; tracks issues through validation and closure.
  • Provides remote technical support during production activation and performs post-implementation validation and stabilization activities.
  • Escalates unresolved technical blockers, aging dependencies, and material readiness risks before they affect customer commitments or go-live.

Documentation and Process Discipline

  • Maintains implementation records in approved tools, including requirements, configurations, plans, testing status, risks, issues, decisions, readiness evidence, and outcomes.
  • Creates and improves reusable technical implementation playbooks, checklists, testing standards, troubleshooting guidance, and handoff criteria.
  • Captures recurring implementation friction and lessons learned and translates them into recommendations for product, process, documentation, or tooling improvement.
  • Completes a structured handoff after production validation and stabilization, including known issues, support ownership, operating documentation, and customer-specific configuration details.

Collaboration and Customer Engagement:

  • Serves as the technical implementation point of contact for assigned customer and partner engagements within the boundaries of approved solution design and implementation authority.
  • Communicates technical requirements, status, risks, decisions, and readiness clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partners with Product Management and engineering to clarify product capabilities, resolve implementation questions, and identify gaps requiring product or architecture decisions.
  • Performs workflow and business-process analysis to understand how the digital solution integrates into the customer environment and operating model.

Job Qualifications (Work Experience, Physical & Mental Requirements, Knowledge, Skills):

Required Work Experience:

  • 5-7 years supporting or managing technical implementations involving APIs, systems integration, data integration, or comparable digital technologies.
  • Experience gathering technical requirements and translating them into configuration, testing, validation, and production-deployment activities.
  • Experience developing or executing technical test plans, troubleshooting implementation issues, and coordinating resolution across technical and business teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple customer implementations, workstreams, or technical priorities while meeting committed timelines.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Experience implementing healthcare interoperability, digital health, laboratory, or EHR-integrated solutions.
  • Experience supporting external customer or partner implementations involving FHIR APIs or SMART on FHIR.
  • Experience working in cross-functional product, engineering, implementation, or Solution Delivery environments.

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of RESTful API integrations, HTTP methods and response codes, JSON, authentication and authorization concepts, and API specifications.
  • Understanding of FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR, technical integration testing, implementation validation, and production-readiness practices.
  • Knowledge of technical requirements gathering, issue management, implementation documentation, and structured operational handoffs.
