Job summary

Capital Medical Group, a newly acquired physician practice within Independence Physician Management (IPM), part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks a Temporary Human Resources Coordinator for up to 12 weeks in Washington, DC.

The role delivers essential HR support for a large multi-specialty practice serving the DMV area, handling onboarding, benefits questions, file maintenance, and compliance with state and federal laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• At least 3 years of HR experience in a role with progressive responsibility.
• Experience supporting employees and managers in a healthcare, multi-site setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-employment onboarding with new hires, managers, and HR teams.
• Assist employees with benefits questions and portal access.
• Maintain employee files and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Process personnel actions (hires, changes, terminations) accurately.
• Track licensure/certifications and notify directors of expirations.
• Support I-9 compliance during onboarding and employment cycle.
• Respond to internal/external inquiries via phone and in person; assist with applications.
• Provide LMS administrator support and other HR team tasks.
