Job summary

• Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, staff, visitors, and government agencies
• Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment for sanitation, order, and safety
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and residents
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning compounds and procedures

Responsibilities

• Clean and polish furnishings, ledges, and room units in common areas daily or as instructed
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures in staff/central bathrooms
• Vacuum, mop, and spot clean corridors and common areas
• Wash walls and ceilings; disinfect and deodorize surfaces
• Remove dirt, dust and film from surfaces using cleaning solutions
• Dispose of waste and line trash containers with liners
• Low-dust, buff, and strip-wax corridors and resident rooms as needed
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and stored after use
• Remove soiled linens and deliver to laundry
• Maintain assigned work areas in a clean, safe, attractive manner
