Job summary

Dawson Manor Health & Rehab is seeking a dedicated housekeeping staff member to maintain clean and sanitary patient areas. You will follow center procedures to clean floors, bathrooms, and common areas, while upholding infection control standards and safety guidelines.

The role emphasizes respectful treatment of patients and visitors, with duties including polishing surfaces, sanitizing rooms, and coordinating with the Maintenance Department for repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• Understands basic cleaning principles and safety related to the handling of chemicals.
• Communicates well with associates, patients, family members, and visitors providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude.
• Responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor, answers questions when appropriate in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, damp mop, and wet mop tile floors.
• Report to supervisor any carpeted areas that need cleaning or spot removal.
• Vacuum carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following center procedure.
• Clean glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
