Job summary

Eastern Health Group seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will perform cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and staff spaces, supporting infection control and facility hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or residential settings preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, and other assigned areas daily using established procedures.
• Collect and dispose of waste, including medical waste and hazardous materials, per safety protocols.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in all areas.
• Assist with laundry by collecting, sorting, and distributing linens and personal laundry.
• Restock housekeeping supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and towels in resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Follow health, safety, and infection control protocols, including proper use of PPE.
• Interact with residents respectfully and protect privacy and dignity while performing duties.
• Use and maintain housekeeping tools and equipment properly.
• Participate in deep-cleaning projects like window washing and seasonal sanitation efforts.
