Job summary

SolutionHealth is seeking an Environmental Safety Support Specialist to assist the safety team with hazardous materials handling, hazardous waste operations, and safety hazard surveillance rounds. You will support the DECON team and assist with the employee fit testing program, audits, and regulatory compliance across hospital sites.

Day shift role requiring a High School Diploma, NH driver's license, and 2+ years of environmental healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2+ years of environmental experience in healthcare or similar setting preferred.
• Valid NH Driver’s License required.
• Knowledgeable in infection control, bloodborne pathogens, and chemical safety.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.

Responsibilities

• Supports hazardous materials handling, waste operations, safety rounds, and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with annual training and acts as back-up HW Coordinator as required.
• Performs frequency audits on storage of hazardous materials and waste.
• Participates in hazard surveillance rounds and DECON team activities.
• Attends HazMat and Waste Sub-committee meetings and documents audits.
• Performs sharps and pharmaceutical waste collection and disposal as scheduled.
• Audits and packages universal waste per regulatory requirements.
