Elliot Health System is seeking an Environmental Safety Support Specialist to assist with hazardous materials handling, waste operations, and safety surveillance across the hospital system. The role supports the EHS team, participates in DECON activities, and upholds NH regulatory requirements while ensuring safe, compliant operations.

The position requires a high school diploma and 2+ years in an environmental field within healthcare or similar settings, plus a NH driver’s license and basic

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Two+ years of environmental experience in healthcare or similar setting.
• NH Driver's License required.
• Knowledge of infection control, bloodborne pathogens, and chemical safety.

Responsabilidades

• Supports hazardous materials handling, waste operations, and related tasks across EHS.
• Attends annual training and acts as back-up HW Coordinator as defined by regulatory requirements.
• Conducts scheduled audits on storage of hazardous materials and waste.
• Performs general hazard surveillance rounds as assigned.
• Attends Hazardous Materials and Waste Sub-committee.
• Provides physical support to DECON team and maintains NH requirements for membership.
• Completes environmental audits and ad-hoc sharps collection.
• Completes scheduled collection of non-hazardous and hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
• Conducts compressed gas cylinder distribution rounds at hospital and Rivers Edge locations.
• Packages and audits universal waste per regulatory requirements.
