Job summary

Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Grill Cook to prepare fresh hot foods for the cafeteria and cafe, and assist in serving patients, retail dining and other events. Prior healthcare experience and high-volume short-order cooking in a fast-paced setting are a plus.

The role requires 1+ years in production cooking, ability to read and follow recipes, strong teamwork, and basic math. Shifts typically run 12pm-8:30pm, with potential 5am-1:30pm, weekend rotations, and holiday

Qualifications

• 1+ years of work experience in production cooking.
• Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations.
• Food handlers card within 30 days of hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks hot and cold items using recipes and production forecasts.
• May work in the retail cafe grill area or cook breakfast items.
• Records over production and run outs; writes directions and quantities.
• Checks and logs food and equipment temperatures; reports problems.
• Maintains par levels; restocks and rotates stock as needed.
• Keeps work areas clean; may oversee shift for efficiency.
