Job summary

Onyx Health Consulting seeks an experienced accounting professional for a leadership role in a skilled nursing/long term care facility in Florida. You will direct the business office accounting functions, oversee billing and Medicaid processes, and ensure strong internal controls and timely month-end close.

The position requires knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in skilled nursing/ long term care facility.
• Working knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting principles, preferably in a healthcare setting to include Medicare, Medicaid and third-party billing.
• Bachelor or Associate degree in business or accounting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the facility’s accounting functions under the supervision of the Administrator.
• Monitor billing and collections; coordinate with third party biller if applicable.
• Maintain proper accounting procedures and controls, especially segregation of duties.
• Analyze collections on a monthly basis.
• Manage resident trust accounting system and security of patient funds.
• Oversee Medicaid pending application and conversion process for timely resolution.
• Ensure timely month-end close and coordinate the triple check process.
• Maintain records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain staff to support the business office.
• Ensure performance and conduct timely appraisals; support QAPI initiatives.
