Job summary

Cornell Scott Hill Health Center seeks an experienced Director of Finance to lead financial operations, reporting to the CFO. You will oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls in a mission-driven healthcare setting.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, healthcare finance expertise, and collaborative leadership to support strategic planning, contracting, and performance improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, or related field required; MBA/MPH/MHA preferred.
• CPA designation highly desirable.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role; healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and healthcare financial regulations.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and automated accounting platforms.
• Experience in large, complex healthcare organizations such as ambulatory care centers, health centers, or hospitals.
• Knowledge of contracting, reimbursement methodologies, and financial planning.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and lead teams effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting with CFO guidance.
• Prepare financial statements, analyses, and reports for decision-making.
• Develop and evaluate financial programs, systems, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Oversees and manages Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Cash Management functions.
• Supports budget development and monitoring processes.
• Collaborates with HR on staff allocation and position control processes.
• Coordinates updates to automated financial systems and MIS.
• Provides financial analysis and consultative support to leadership.
• Supports contracting and revenue development opportunities.
• Supports departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures managers receive accurate financial reports and guidance.
• Mentors and evaluates assigned staff.
• Facilitates cross-functional financial planning discussions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
