Job summary

Fairfield Memorial Hospital Association in Fairfield, IL is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the Finance team. This role blends accounting, medical staff credentialing, payer enrollment, and payroll backup, contributing to month-end close and audit readiness.

The successful candidate will have an Associate Degree in accounting or related field and at least three years of accounting experience, with strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent plus experience in accounting or healthcare admin.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Minimum 3 years in accounting, payroll, credentialing, or payer enrollment.
• Experience with reconciliations and financial reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and year end journal entries.
• Assist with month end close and year end close processes.
• Support audits by preparing documentation and schedules.
• Coordinate provider credentialing and enrollment activities.
• Maintain provider licenses, certifications, and documentation.
• Serve as payroll backup and assist with payroll reconciliations.
