Job summary

Valley Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Castro Valley, CA is seeking a Maintenance Worker to maintain the grounds, facilities, and equipment. The role requires adherence to safety standards and coordination with nursing staff to support resident care.

The position offers a full-time schedule, with shifts Monday to Friday and compensation in the $18–$20 per hour range DOE. Benefits include health/vision/dental and retirement options, along with ongoing education opportunities.

Qualifications

Must possess a minimum 10th grade education.
Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
Physical demands include occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and frequent desk/computer use.

Responsibilities

Maintain grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Follow maintenance schedules and report accidents.
Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services during routine tasks.
Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
Ensure confidentiality of resident information and report any violations.
